Terms
The legal stuff, written like a human.
Last updated: April 2026.
Not advice
Nothing on The Upleg is investment, tax, or legal advice. The newsletter and site are journalism and commentary, not personalized guidance. Before you do anything that costs real money, consult a qualified intermediary, a CPA, and an attorney who knows your specific facts.
No warranty
We try hard to be accurate. We're not always going to be. Content is provided "as is," without warranty. Deal data, cap rates, lease terms, and tenant information are sourced from listings, filings, and reporting — they can be wrong, stale, or misinterpreted. Verify anything you rely on.
No liability
You're an adult making adult real-estate decisions. We're not liable for losses, missed deadlines, failed exchanges, tax consequences, or any other outcomes you experience after reading our stuff. If you miss day 45, that's between you and your QI, not us.
Your use of the site
- Don't scrape the site for commercial use without asking.
- Don't republish our content as your own. Quoting with attribution and linking is fine and encouraged.
- Don't try to break things. We'll notice and we'll be annoyed.
Sponsorships & links
Some content is sponsored. Sponsored content is always disclosed. We may include affiliate links; where we do, they're labeled. See Editorial Guidelines.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which The Upleg's operating entity is organized. Disputes go to courts of competent jurisdiction in that state.
